CER is proud to announce a new collaboration with the Cartoonists Rights Network South East Europe (CRN/SEE). Each issue, we will be bringing you contemporary political cartoons from CRN, starting this week with two from Yugoslavia, which were both originally published in the journal Osisani Jez and appeared in "Freedom and Journalism," The First Cartoon Festival Ploiesti (Romania), 2001.

Mohamed Đerlek was born in 1953, and works as a designer and cartoonist.

Mileta Miloradović |
Mileta Miloradović was born in 1948, and currently works as a cartoonist for the Yugoslav satirical magazine Osisani Jez. His work also appears in a variety of other newspapers and magazines. He has had seven individual exhibitions and has won 15 important prizes and several recognitions in domestic and international competitions.
About CRN
The first CRN organization was established in the US seven years ago by Dr Robert Russell, who leads Cartoonist Rights Network International. CRN promotes friendship and solidarity between all cartoonists worldwide, with the goal of protecting the integrity of freedom of speech for editorial cartoonists.
The Cartoonists Rights Network South East Europe (CRN/SEE) currently represents seven countries: Romania, Albania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Turkey and Yugoslavia. CRN's director, Nicolae Ionita, is looking to take on more members throughout all of Central and Eastern Europe.
